Your web browser or mobile app controls what can be copied and pasted into Facebook, and sometimes this is not so seamless. Here are some examples:

  • Copying and pasting text from a Word document into Facebook works great because the formatting of the text is generally preserved when it is pasted.
  • Copying and pasting an image from Twitter into Facebook won’t work because Facebook requires images to be uploaded first, rather than simply copied and pasted.

Your ability to copy and paste from another source will simply depend on the rules of each app or web browser.
