TikTok is the place to be for younger generations on social media, and that demographic is one of the biggest spenders across markets and industries. As a content producer, you’ve worked hard to make amazing videos on TikTok, and you’re gaining, or you’ve already gotten, quite a following.
Now, how do you share all that magic across your social media platforms?
Instagram is a particularly ideal place to be able to share your TikTok videos as the two platforms share much in common.
And now with Facebook and Instagram making moves to compete with TikTok, it will be helpful to get more of your TikTok content over there.
But how?
How Do TikTok Videos Work?
In short, TikTok videos can be up to 15 seconds long, or you can record multiple clips for up to 3 minutes.
Users can use different songs and filters to go on their videos; you can also “duet” other videos by responding to their video. This duet will show up as a side by side on your own TikTok, where your viewers will see a clip of the original video then your response.
Further, you can engage with videos by liking, commenting, saving, or sharing them.
Watching and creating TikTok videos has become a favorite pastime for people of all ages on social media precisely because it allows you to engage with such a wide range of people and accounts across a variety of interests.
And videos can go viral, making TikTok an ideal location to gain attention for your brand.
Why Would You Add a TikTok Video to Your Instagram?
Why would you add a TikTok video to your Instagram? Well, age range for one.
The age range for users on TikTok is primarily from ages 16 to 24, with only 26% in the range from 25 to 44.
This age range trends higher on Instagram, with people in the older age range sticking to their tried and true Instagram reels and simply waiting for viral videos from Instagram to appear there.
So, if your goal is to reach a larger and broader audience, it’s a smart move to add your TikTok video to Instagram to get more eyes on your content.
While many users do have TikTok as their primary social media account, most have Instagram as the next runner up, their secondary platform. Thus, if your TikTok video does well on the original platform, it’s a smart move to add it to your secondary platform as well.
The advantage is that you don’t have to go through further editing.

Now, let’s say, for whatever reason, you don’t want your Instagram viewers to know that your video comes from TikTok.
Can you remove that ever present watermark?

Here are a few options to remove the TikTok watermark from your shared video:

Can You Link Your TikTok Account to Instagram to Automatically Share?
Finally, for those Instagram users who are so fond of sharing Instagram posts automatically to Facebook with a single setting change, you may be wondering if you can do the same from TikTok to Instagram.
Sadly, you cannot.
At least not automatically. The only reason it is so easy from Instagram to Facebook is that the platforms are owned by the same company.
If you want to link your Instagram account to your TikTok account, you can either add your Instagram information to your TikTok profile, or you can add your TikTok information to your Instagram profile.
That way, anyone interested can look at your profile and go find your account.
And while you cannot automatically share your TikTok videos to Instagram, you can always go through the process outlined above with each video and manually upload your TikTok videos to your Instagram story or reels.
In the end, adding your TikTok content to your Instagram story or reels is a great way to get more fresh eyes on your videos as many users only have account on one of the platforms, not both.
