Since launching in 2016, TikTok has quickly grown to be one of the single most popular social media platforms on the planet. Everyone loves watching and sharing short-form videos on TikTok, and it can be quite lucrative for content creators who are able to make the system work for them.
Are you just getting started on TikTok and have questions about common uses of the app? Here are some common questions we hear that can help you be more successful on TikTok.
How Do I Change My Age on TikTok?
One thing TikTok requires from users when they sign up is their age. It may seem like it shouldn’t matter, but the idea is that it prevents underage users from gaining access to explicit content or interacting with adult users.
But what if you entered the wrong age when you signed up and now you can’t access age-appropriate features, like making your profile public?
The ability to change your age on TikTok within your profile was removed in 2021 as part of the company revamping its privacy policies. So, if you need to edit your birthdate, you’ll need to email customer service directly at infocontact@tiktok.com.
You can also submit a request through the app under “support and help”. Someone will email you from there.
Keep in mind, you will not be permitted to change your birthdate without providing identification, so we would recommend changing this only if there is a true error in your account.
How Do I Make a Playlist on TikTok?
TikTok is not just a place for making and sharing funny videos. It’s possible to create video playlists as well, and it’s really easy to do.
First, open the app and find the video you want to use for a playlist. Press and hold or tap the three-dot icon in the corner and select Add to Playlist > Create Playlist.
From here, you just need to come up with a name for your playlist and continue adding videos until you’re done.
How Much Does TikTok Pay for 1 Million Views?
One million is a really big number, but surprisingly, a million views on TikTok doesn’t really bring in very much cash. Content creators receive 2 to 4 cents for every 1,000 views, so when you do the math, 1 million views will bring in about $40 to $50.
But TikTok just doesn’t work like other video sharing platforms such as YouTube. So how do users make any money?
TikTok prefers to reward users who employ marketing tactics, like product promotion, directly selling merch, or participating in affiliate marketing. Additionally, the more followers you have, the better your earnings.
People with 100,000 followers can expect to make between $200 and $1,000 per month, and if you have a million followers, you may be making closer to $5k.
If you live stream videos from time to time, you give other users a chance to gift you with TikTok coins directly, which is a surprisingly good way to make money on the platform.
How Can You Delete TikTok videos?
You may find yourself in a situation where you want to remove a video from your profile, either because you posted by accident, or just because you want to get rid of some older content. Deleting a TikTok video is very easy to do.
- Open your profile and click on the video you want to delete.
- Once the video has loaded, open your menu options.
- Tap on the trash can icon to delete your video.
- A dialogue box will pop up asking you to confirm your choice.
- Tap confirm, and you’re good to go!
How Do I See Who Liked My TikTok Video?
One of the most irresistible features on social media is the “like” button. Whether you’re viewing someone else’s content or you post something of your own, it can be satisfying knowing that other people like it as well.
But how do you know who is liking your videos on TikTok? How do you find out the names behind the numbers?
If you want to know who’s liking your videos, pull up your video and tap the Comment icon. You’ll see at the bottom how many likes your video has gotten. If you tap on Likes, you’ll be able to see a list of names.
If you want to get more in depth with this, you can switch to a Creator account, where you’ll be provided with more detailed analytics.
How Do I See Who Shared My TikTok Video?
Unlike the “Like” feature that will give you the names of people who have liked your content, there is no way to know exactly who is sharing your videos. You do have the option to switch to a TikTokPro account, which will provide you with more specific information like number of views, number of shares, and demographic information.
But you’ll never be able to satisfy your curiosity when you’re wondering just who is sharing your videos. At least you’ll be able to tell how popular your videos are and how often they’re being shared.
We hope you’ve learned something new about TikTok to enhance your use of the app. Do you have more questions about TikTok? Let us know about them in the comments!
